Trio aka PROFIT’s early love for poetry and writing evolved into a passion for hip-hop, fueled by inspiration from his family and life events. At just 11, after his father’s passing, he found solace in writing, which later turned into rapping. With guidance from his uncle, DJ and producer SixxFo, he learned FL Studio and began crafting his sound.
Q: What led you to pursue a career in music?
Trio Aka Profit: Music became my escape. I started with poetry to cope with losing my dad, and it naturally shifted into rap. My uncle SixxFo introduced me to FL Studio, and that’s when I began creating beats and songs. It felt like finding my true self.
Q: Your stage name is unique. How did you come up with it?
Trio Aka Profit: It’s a mix of personal and professional. “Trio” comes from my middle name, Demetrious, and the three roles I embody—rapper, producer, and visionary. “Profit” reflects my drive to turn passion into purpose.

Who is Benny the Jet?
High energy, audience engagement, mixed with a club, pop rap style that you will never forget. That is the definition of what you will find at a Benny the Jet concert. Born in Los Angeles California and moved to the state of Iowa as a kid, you would never think it was a perfect home for an independent artist. Truth is, if you stand out, you can be in a league all your own. Iowa City, Iowa artist Benny the Jet has done just that.
With musical and theatrical influences from his adopted family, they exposed him to a lot of different entertainment avenues. “I grew up doing plays, musicals, choir and band. I always knew I wanted my career to be something entertainment related. I fell in love with Hip-Hop in my teenage years and started to pursue a career in Rap.” Benny the Jet states. “I was also fascinated by the lifestyle.”

He’s officially in the lifestyle now. His brand and style are well known and admired. He currently has a podcast “In the Cockpit” and is scheduled to release his first EP this year. He has worked with Lex Bratcher and Futuristic and has headlined numerous concerts of his own generating his own following and success. Late in 2022 his signed on with Midwest DJ, DJ K Yung as his manager and got long time friend Brett “Bert” Johnson has his road manager. His career is on the path that he believes that will now take him to new heights, with hopes of touring and working with producers like Metro Booming, Mustard and putting on theatrical performances like Travis Scott.

Yolo Ru is an artist and former athlete born in Trinidad and Tobago, raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Yolo Ru, his mother, and younger brother Koon Ru relocated to America when he was a teenager for more opportunities.
Yolo Ru credits his mother and Jay-Z as his greatest influences and applied their principles of determination to teach himself how to record, mix, engineer, and developed a plan to release their music.
One day while recording, the police arrested Koon Ru for the murder charge mid song and he was handed 7 years. This prompted Yolo Ru to commit to keeping their dreams of being musicians active and the Ru Gang brand was born.
“Make Moves Quietly and Let The Impact Be Loud!!” This is a saying that Yolo Ru lives by and it is evident in his music. Yolo Ru’s most recent releases, “Got It On Me” and “Enemies” have amassed millions of plays on streaming platforms and YouTube, and he has worked with the likes of Duke Deuce, Toosie, Idontknojeffery, and DJ Swamp Izzo. 2022 will embark on the Ru Gang brothers” 12 plus year journey in music and they continue to self-fund their careers and brands.

The amount of talent to come out of Florida in recent years has been quite impressive, especially with the assistance of the internet and social media. The distinctive Florida bounce has been hard to miss following the tone set in the 90’s from the likes of Trina and Trick Daddy. Newcomers, such as rap artist C Glizzy who comes from Pompano Beach, Florida, is adding to this soundscape while also bringing a fresh new perspective to the industry.
What’s most impressive about C Glizzy’s artistry is his ability to deliver a sound that is raw and uncut but has fans still bobbing their heads along to it. His most recent project Numb the Pain is a prime example of this, which makes it hard to believe that he’s only been rapping professionally for under three years. He talks about the experience he faced after getting shot in the head, which gave him not only a new focus on life, but a renewed energy for his music. C Glizzy, whose birth name is Christian Moore, draws a lot of inspiration from rappers like DMX, Chief Keef, and 2 Pac who found their own ways of expressing their pain through music.
The young rapper notes the importance of having a plan and following it through. “If you gone be out here in the world, don’t be half stepping,” he explains. “You better have a plan.” His plan to take over the industry is in full motion with him already opening for charting artists like Polo G, Lil Tecca, Smokepurpp, and Lil Mosey. While he's been able to perform across the nation, Florida is still true to his heart and he’s preparing to release an EP titled Florida Boyz with an intent to bring together the hottest up and coming artists out of Florida. His new single featuring Foolio is set to release soon as well.

Darshania Fuses New Age with Hip Hop for “Heart Chakra”

“My voice has always been something that has been a healer for me through the things I’ve been through in my life,” said Darshania. “Through writing and performing, there’s a connection that happens when you hear music like this. It’s such a universal language; you can touch so many people even if they don’t speak your language.
Diving into the new age, with mystical melodies and soothing beats, the single “Telepathic” focuses on love. While some refer to love as only romantic, Darshania says the song “explores the depth of love between a mother and her child, and her partner. It explores the love between the ocean, the love with nature, and having a love for ritual and an understanding how important that is to keep that going and your life to be connected to the Earth.

Shifting gears, Darshania, who is of West Indian, Blackfoot Creole, and Filipino heritage, gives listeners an inside look at her journey from a life of hardships to a successful artist, musician, and mediation guru.
In her single “Prism Pyramid,” produced by the late Ras G., Darshania said, “I was predicting a better future for myself. I wrote that song when I was living in a bad place with a bunch of roaches everywhere. I literally went downstairs in the studio of that place and recorded that song myself, and it was me wanting to create my future and speaking to myself. But it also was empowerment to remember that your mental, physical, and spiritual health are more valuable than anything else that you have.”
With additional tracks featuring guest vocalists Illuminati Congo and Poetic S., “Heart Chakra” takes listeners on a spiritual odyssey while permitting music to be their guide. “The journey is about loving yourself. That journey is about tapping into that frequency of your heart and in my spiritual practice. It is believed that the heart, rather than the brain is the source of human wisdom,” explained Darshania.
While some music aims at the darker side of life, Darshania’s music is vastly different. “We need to bring the love back into our music. We are not progressing by sharing bad messages, disrespecting our women or brothers, or sharing anything involving violence and killing. That’s just killing our people. It’s time for evolution to step forward and step through because love is what’s going to lead the way.”
